Through the rigor and selectivity of its Admissions Process, CIMBA builds the ideal team – of colleagues, friends, and contacts from around the world.

Candidate selection criteria reflect the CIMBA focus on preparing students to become effective managers and leaders. With its focus on the development of managerial soft-skills, CIMBA is unique among business schools and candidate selection criteria mirror that uniqueness. To assure that candidates have the ability, aptitude, and motivation to develop managerial thinking and leadership soft skills at an accelerated and intense pace, they are assessed against the following criteria:

  •         Personal Commitment to a Career in Management
  •         Academic Merit, GMAT and Language
  •         Commitment to Personal Development and Change
  •         Contributions to the Learning and Living Environments
Personal Interview
In assessing candidates for many of these criteria, CIMBA relies on a personal interview with the candidate. Importantly, it is CIMBA’s policy to require an interview prior to the formal review of a candidate’s admission file. This has been CIMBA’s policy since the program’s inception. Although these interviews take a tremendous amount of time and effort on the part of the CIMBA staff and alumni, it is our conviction that it will be our people who manage and lead organizations, not their test scores or grade point averages. In this way, a candidate’s personal interview takes a very prominent role in the selection process.
